What is the difference between an Impact Driver and a standard drill driver?

Impact Drivers are made specifically for driving fasteners. There is an internal mechanism that impacts the drive shaft in the direction of the rotation. These impacts result in more turning power, or torque, to drive fasteners. There is no clutch.

Is the 20V Cordless Impact Driver effective in masonry?

For masonry, a Hammer Drill, Impact Drill, or Rotary Hammer are better options.

What is RPM vs BPM?

Product Description

This versatile, powerful, and compact 20V Impact Driver was designed to be strong enough to get the job done, yet small enough to get into narrow spaces. So you can bring all this force to places other drills have trouble fitting into. Its motor has been engineered with efficiency in mind, so it wastes little battery while still doling out 0-3300 bpm and 1500 inch/lbs of torque. Control the speed by pulling harder on the trigger, so you can decide exactly how much force each fastener requires. And the forward and reverse switch lets you back out slowly, too. The quality-of-life features on this drill are what sets it apart. It’s smaller and lighter than other drills with similar specs, so you can grip it tighter. Its handle is designed to be used for long stretches with its soft, overmold construction. And the LED light prevents you from ever having to work in the dark. The ¼” hex chuck accepts all popular brands of bits and comes with a #2 Phillips screwdriving bit. 20V Power Share battery and charger sold separately. It’s an Impact Driver with modern features to make it easier on the user, but still built to perform for decades to come.

This came in really handy for a recent porch remodeling project. Drove in screws through deck boards without any fuss, and handled the bolts used to fix railings too. I like that the ‘Power Share’ system means the same battery can be used for my other Worx tool (weedwhacker) and vice versa.I don’t have any other drivers to compare this to, in terms of the weight or the torque delivered - but at just over 2 lbs and 1500 in-lbs, this seems plenty for the average homeowner, and you probably need a unit that has some heft to it, feels like that helps in getting stuff driven in!A couple of things to be aware of: the trigger needs some getting used to - unlike my old power screwdriver, this Worx unit can spin at much higher speeds, so you need to be careful not to strip out the screw heads when starting out. I have a few chewed up bits too, the result of trying to learn how this driver works! Never mind, it’s easy to ‘modulate’ once you’ve got the hang of it.Also, the only bits you get out right out of the box are a couple of Phillips heads; I bought a set for about $20 that includes drills, Torx bits, flathead and Phillips bits and even some small nut driver sockets, that kit really opens up the possibilities for this driver. Now it’s easy to go from drilling (smaller) holes to putting in fasteners with the same tool, I guess that could be a real time saver in a commercial application. Pull the collar forward, take out one bit and swap in the other one, there’s a click when it’s in - easy.It’s a no-frills unit that gets the job done - can’t say fairer than that.

I needed an impact driver to replace the blade on my mower and since I already have a handful of Worx batteries that I keep regularly charged, this was a no brainer. I was first criticized "Get the Dewalt", but I just needed it for the mower blade and again the batteries. This has a lot of power to it. If you are already in the Worx eco system or just need an inexpensive impact driver that has more power than a bargain bin item, I highly recommend this little engine that could.

I needed to get a new impact screwdriver. The Worx WX291L.9 20V received good ratings so I ordered the drill/impact combo. The price was good. After a couple months of use, I loved them so much that I ordered three more impact drivers, one more drill and two backup batteries. I own a custom cabinet shop and I use these daily, at least six days a week.
The first thing I was impressed with was how long the battery lasted. My prior cordless were 16V. The 20 is much better. They are also lighter than the ones I had before. Lighter with more power and longer battery life, a great combo.
When my neighbor said he needed an impact driver, without a second thought, recommended the Worx.
Since I had all the order information from my last purchase, I ordered him two impact drivers, which came to my house. Inside the box was all the tools Worx makes that work with the same battery. This was new to me because this is the first time I had seen this. He then started his wish list of additional Worx tools.
This is definitely a well designed line of tools that work with a common battery design.

I used it for a full day on one battery putting lag bolts in wood. Used it at junk yards all day pulling parts not ideal for lug nuts were big power is needed but if you compare it to a air ratchet/drill your in business. Strongly recommend this tool.

The battery life is exceptional, my dewalt I probably get 1 1/2 days out of running service calls.This drill can sometimes last 4 days with a 20volt battery. Been had it awhile it’s been consistent. It is a pretty heavy drill for an impact more like the weight of a wood drill. Has a different kind of angle for drilling but I don’t find it difficult to switch back and fourth between this and my dewalt through the week. I originally got the drill because I had acquired sum other worx products and had a excessive amount of their batteries ( I preferably like the one with the life Indicator on the back of the battery) I just needed and back up for work instead of paying for a second battery for the dewalt for $100 I opted in on the purchase of this drill as it comes without a battery for a better price, so more less exactly what I needed. Hope this helps somebody.

The product looks alright except you cannot use it. It comes with no battery. That is okay except you cannot get a battery for it in Australia. The product is no good if you can't use it.

The light feature could be very usefull when working in areas with limited lighting .
However , the light on the driver is turned on "ONLY" when the driver is used .
Would be MUCH better if the light had a separate control , and one could get in position , see where one wants to work , and THEN turn on the driver .

Same comment for the drill .
