Another waste of time and money
I keep trying these units (3rd and last attempt). First 2 (different models) didn't even work at all This unit worked from the standpoint that it booted up and went into set up. It scanned channels OK, but the signal was degraded so much that they were not even viewable. My antenna signal is great. I get an excellent picture on 4 TVs in the house. I tried both coax and hdmi output to TV. Same result. Don't waste your time and money on any of these units in this price range. I don't even know if a good one exists to record from an antenna connection.

It works great as an ota receiver. I don't care for the 24 hour clock that can't be changed to a12 hour clock. It can't be turned off either. Daylight saving time is manual. The USB port is on the front, if you want to record programs you will have a cord hanging in front. It should be in back. It works great with the HDMI port.
Programming is easy, I get the same channels I get on my spare TV. I tuned at 720 dpi. I bought it for my projector. I connected it through my stereo for a great home theater

Finally they got it almost right, only missing 'update keep and add' channel scan. I tried nearly a dozen brands and models, all clearly made by the same Chinese company, and all unusable junk Same company, but much better usability and remote; adequate rf out ch 3-4 instead of simple loop-through. (old analog tv's require coax rf in). Finally they've wised up. Seems to have better channel pull-in, but antenna often needs repositioning for certain channels and no way to re-scan and add them without losing previous channels, a major omission which other units have. Best bang-for-the-buck on the market, but still a near-miss.

I spent my entire life designing firmware for such equipment. It's obvious the unseasoned young bushy-tailed creators of this firmware do not have a clue about what is important to end-users, and perhaps no way to find out.

You know these things don't last without problems for even a year. Then they stop making them or switch up the remote which is the problem 1/2 the time. So when something quits I'll have a spare. The price makes 2 attractive. I think these is a relabeled model of my 1st ViewTV 263 box. The form is the same and the remote works but the button function in the remote are relocated and retagged. Hassle to use with the old ViewTV 263.

Although labeled as a "2024 Version" tuner box, it does not support the current ATSC 3.0 digital TV OTA standard, which was available to 75% of US households as of April 2024. My market has several ATSC 3.0 broadcasting stations.
This box only supports ATSC 1.0 features.
Claiming it to be a "2024 Version" is misleading.
It may be a new box, but the tuner technology is not.

I also tried the DVR function. It is not intuitive and requires an understanding of system file structures to find what was recorded. It's not user-friendly. Additionally, when the DVR is engaged, the live output is displayed with the audio out of sync, and for the recorded material, the audio is also out of sync.

Le choix des touches pour faire certaines opérations est un peu bizarre, mais il y a un aide-mémoire au bas de l’écran et on finit par s’habituer. La réception des chaînes est bonne et l’enregistrement fonctionne bien sur un disque dur et certaines clés USB. Utilisez une clé comme Sandisk Ultra ou Extreme qui ont une vitesse d’écriture plus rapide. Il y a 2 fonctionnalités sur mon autre DVR qui manquent sur celui-là.
1. Sur l’autre DVR, il est plus facile de sauter les commerciaux, car il y a une touche avance-1-minute et une touche recule-15-secondes. Ces 2 touches rendent le saut très simple. Sur le Mediasonic, il faut appuyer plusieurs fois sur avance rapide, surveiller, puis stop, puis marche arrière etc. Il est plutôt difficile de bien voir où on en est. 2. Sur l’autre DVR, l ‘avance rapide monte à 300X contre 32X sur le Mediasonic, ce qui est ennuyeux lorsqu’on a une heure ou deux à sauter.

J'ai acheté ce nouveau modèle car la télécommande du modèle précédent ne fonctionnait plus.
Ce nouveau modèle fonctionne très bien et dispose d'un afficheur qui indique quel canal est syntonisé ou affiche l'heure lorsque l'appareil n'est pas en service.
Compte tenu du prix, cet appareil offre un très bon service; le seul point faible de ce modèle et aussi du modèle précédent est que, dès qu'il se produit un petit 'glitch' , il y a automatiquement un perte de synchronisation entre le signal vidéo et le signal audio. Il faut appuyer une ou deux fois sur le bouton audio de la télécommande, pour retrouver la synchronisation des deux signaux.
