    This Tuner, at first glance, unpacking it, reading the specs on the rear of the box, it looked really nice. Looking through the instruction manual was what cause many of them, "ummmmm...." moments.The instruction manual gives you basic help, of how to wire it up. Easy stuff. Identification of buttons on the front... Then it gets weird. There is a page that tells you what the buttons on the remote do, but, some of the buttons listed are not on this remote... The last few pages are some brief explanations about viewing from a USB drive, and also inserting a USB drive, external HD for using as a DVR.Hooking this Tuner up, having it search for stations went well. After that,m tuning into stations works fine. Though, more questions arose. How do I create a Fav channels list? I am not, "Lost" when it comes to tech stuff, but I could not figure this out. It is not in the manual either. Also, there is no website for this company. Speaking of that manual, the Table Of Contents doesn't match the layout of the book! It mentions 16 pages, but only 13 pages in the instruction manual. Also, there is mention in the table of contents a page for, "Contact information". No page in the manual about that. No place on the box, or manual, lists a site for this place. I search online, nothing.Long story short, this thing will search for channels, and tune into them. It's not too difficult to set it to record things as a DVR. It played a few things I had on USB. It works, for the most part, but having features I cannot get working, no way to contact the company, etc, I have to rate this, what I am rating it, since for a similar amount of money, one can get a TV Tuner with more support behind it. This ZJBox ATSC-Q9 is not a bad TV Tuner, it just feels unfinished, and once again, for similar money, one can get a TV Tuner that is more polished, and with more support.

    The remote control when this ZJBOX was purchased did not work right. Several buttons did nothing and most buttons where labeled wrong as to what function the remote control key should control. The ZJBOX box would record programs all the way though an one hour show and even longer with no problems. Later the company offered a firmware update so I updated the firmware on the ZJBOX box with an USB flash drive. After I updated the firmware the remote control worked good. The bad news is now the ZJBOX box freezes up, in usually under 13 minutes, every time I try to record with it. I even tried recording several different channels and it still freezes up. I also tried several different flash drives and the ZJBOX still freezes up with each different flash drive. When the ZJBOX freezes up, it requires a person to unplug it and re-plug it in again each time. It also freezes up if you use the programming function to change channels at a set time for recording to an external source like a DVD or VCR.

    This is the third Digital to Analog box that I have purchased and none of them have worked totally right. The other two I purchase died completely in under a years time. They were an Ematic and Zinwell.

    A few months ago one of the grandsons accidentally ripped the OTA ( Over The Air ) antenna connection out of the back of the 60 in. TV. and we no longer had access to the 50+ FREE OTA channels here in So.Calif. Internet streaming aps work for some things, but they're lousy for trying to watch OTA TV. Not nearly as many channels and way more commercials.
    Since our TV has extra HDMI inputs, this was a good way to get back those 50+ channels.
    This tuner gets all those "missing" channels back, but isn't as intuitive or fast as the built in tuner.
    Things that make it frustrating (after scanning in all your local channels) are; 1) it needs to "Boot" up every time it's turned on, it's not "instant on" like the TV. 2) To go to a channel you select the number and wait . . . 3) There is no ( . ) button, so if you want to go to a sub channel like 5.4 you need to go to 5 then CH+ 3 times to get there. 4) It's slow to switch channels ( lag ), so if you want to quickly check other channels during commercials, you will probably be late getting back your original program. 4) You need to turn on / turn off your TV separate from the ZJBOX.
    Conclusion; Not ideal, but better than the alternative of no TV, or internet streaming of limited channels that have badly placed commercials.
    Conclusion; Would I buy it again? Probably, but I do miss the speed and ease of the built in tuner and direct access to all the OTA channels without lag.
