Accurate description of weight and min length. Max length is not 130cm if you follow the tick marks, actual maximum is about 137cm. Cork grip is nice, not slippery at all, not sure about the durability. Whole thing can be disassembled easily. Can't wait to hit this bad boy on trails.Update: After about 20 miles of hike the bottom pole slipped for about 5cm with the default tightness on the lock, top pole stayed fixed. Wish the top part of the handle is also cork so that when going downhill it will slip less (with the cane hand position).

My old poles got the job done but I did not know what I was missing. The Black Diamonds are lighter. The height adjustment is so much easier with the flip clips. The wrist straps do not slip out after getting sweaty. The cork grips feel so much better and dry very quickly and are not slippery when wet. They cost much more than my old poles but very worth it to me.

Costly but worth it! I'm a manufacturing engineer by trade and I can't think or a way they could have made these any better! The solid metal clamps are so much nicer than the plastic ones found on most others. Everything is comfortable and solid.

For local adventures, i prefer my bamboo walking stick. But unfortunately, this is much too big to take along for any kind of travel. For overall portability, lightness, strength, and reliability, the Black Diamond Alpines are fantastic!

The grip on these is very soft and the foam beneath the main handle is a very nice feature. The grip is vertical (compared to some trekking poles which tilt forward slightly) and need to be at just the right height to not fatigue your hand/wrist. To do this, adjust them so that your wrist is neutral with your arm bent at 90 degrees when the tips are on the ground. If you are someone with sensitive wrists, keep in mind that terrain conditions will change the effective length of the pole - for example, the pole will seem longer on rock than on snow because there is an added length from the tip not going into the ground.

I have never used poles before. But as I got older (I’m 62) my knees started hurting on the downhill and I didn’t feel really stable on all the rocks hiking in Colorado. I researched poles thoroughly and these looked like the best. Well I took them on a hard and steep four hour hike in the Colorado mountains and I can’t believe how much easier it was to hike. I even had to scramble over boulders. The nibs on the bottom seem to grasp the rocks so I didn’t slide. Also, the levers that extend and shorten the pole length held tight so I could put almost all my weight on the poles while rock scrambling. On the uphill, keeping them at a 70 degree angle I was almost able to push off the ground. They took considerable weight off my knees and backpack. I should note I watched several good YouTube videos on how to adjust, hold, and use poles before I took these out. It only took a few minutes to catch on once I was on the trail. I highly recommend these. Oh and they weigh nothing!

After having these on my wish list for a long time, I picked these up in the spring to replace my well used aluminum poles. All I can say is that I wish I had done it much sooner. The new carbon poles with cork grips instantly became a much appreciated luxury item when backpacking and hiking.

Les bâtons sont légers, super résistant et efficace.
J’ai pu les tester sur tous types de sols (sable, terre (forêt), montagne avec de la neige/rocher (chemins technique), chemins de boue, passage de cours d’eau.
Ils ne m’ont jamais déçu, ces bâtons sont vraiment qualitatif, léger/facile à transporter et ils sont facilement réglages en hauteur avec des repères.
Les clip pour débloquer et régler la hauteur du bâton est assez simple d’utilisation et efficace.
En fonction de votre hauteur, il faudra peut-être régler les vis de serrage pour être sûr que le bâton ne se rétracte pas avec le poids. (Outil fourni avec le bâton)
Sur le sol dur (béton par exemple), j’ai acheté des embouts en caoutchouc pour amortir le choc. Ces embouts en caoutchouc permettent également d’avoir une plus grande zone de portance.
