    I'm writing this review for those who either bought the 4th Gen or are looking to buy one in the near future.

    First things first, yes you can use your iTunes account with both the 4th Gen and 3rd Gen versions of the iPod Touch. You will need to log into your iTunes account from a more updated device (iPhone or iPad), iTunes on your computer or the iCloud website.

    The first time you enter your iTunes info on the iPod Touch 3rd/4th Gen, your newer device (iTunes/iPad) will automatically ping you to confirm it's you. It will then give you a 6-digit passcode and tell you what to do to use your iTunes account on the older device: Enter your password on the older device again but also include "#XXXXXX", the "Xs" being the passcode. It will then log you in.

    I know the extra device or computer requirement to use an older device feels convoluted but this is for your protection. Even if you don't have an up to date iPhone or iPad, you can log into your iCloud account from a computer to do get the 6-digit passcode needed to log into the older.

    That aside. I owned my 32GB iPod Touch 4th Gen for 10 years before it stopped working. I bought it secondhand from a store on that note but it was in pretty good condition overall. I stopped holding its charge for very long after a few years and I was forced to carry a portable power bank with me especially during cold weather. Otherwise it would shut off even if the battery showed as full.

    My iPod Touch was my first-ever Apple device so when I later bought an iPad Mini, I was able to migrate everything to it. I don't like the fact Apple decided to discontinue the iPod Touch as it has all the features the iPhone has minus phone functions. That and the lower pricing were what made it so attractive to those who bought one.

    It's strongly advised for music/video/podcast management, you have a computer and iTunes. More so if you either have or plan to have a massive digital library. Books are managed from the device as are apps on that note.

    The on/off button got stuck immediately. Now there is no way to turn it on without plugging it into the charger (which causes it to turn on). I'm returning it. I bought it to replace my old iPod that never turned off and the battery would run out faster, so it doesn't make sense for me to keep it. But just for reviewing purposes: otherwise, the device works fine. So if you don't mind never being able to power it down, then you'll be fine with this ipod.
