Update 2: I figured out how to fix the problem of my PC not recognizing the player. YOU HAVE TO CONNECT WITH A "USB C TO USB C" CORD AND NOT THE "USB C TO USB A" CORD THAT COMES WITH THE PLAYER. Because I can now transfer files and use the player, as well as the excellent customer service, I have changed my rating to 5 stars.
Update 1: After Amazon customer service helped connect me to the seller, they immediately offered to send me a replacement which arrived very quickly. Excellent customer service.
Doesn't connect to PC so I can't transfer files onto the player, so it's useless. I tried different USB ports, different USB cables, different PCs, resetting the device to factory settings, countless restarts of both device and PCs... nothing worked. The player does recharge its battery when plugged in with the USB cable to the PC so the cable and ports are not faulty. Not being recognized by the PC makes this device useless since I can't transfer music and video files onto it. Returning this device and of course I definitely do not recommend it to anyone.

Player runs hot and runs on old version of Android OS
The screen is surprisingly responsive, including keyboard. It runs in Android OS, version 9, so it's pretty old (about 5 years).The hardware doesn't really support the OS or the apps that well. The factory set apps takes up over 50% of the device's memory already as well about 40% of the internal memory. When attempting to run Amazon Musix (one of the pre-installed apps), it takes awhile to load as well as it closes the app sometimes. Scrolling through Playlist is also difficult due to response lag.The quality of the external speakers is pretty decent, though, surprisingly. The sound is clear with no noise.I'm giving it 3 stars because of the hardware.

UPDATE Every time the device powers off and then back on the spotify app is gone and I have to redownload it and none of the music is saved nor downloaded. It only keeps the pre-downloaded apps that come on it. I bought this because I wanted to stream music while working and I am not able to take my phone into my work area but I am allowed an iPod or mp3 player. So, I was excited because it came with some pre-installed music apps, google playstore and, the chrome browser. Some apps I use and some I do not. That being said, I deleted some of those apps. One of the apps was Spotify for kids. And I in return downloaded Spotify from the playstore. I logged in to my account and downloaded some of the music on my Playlists. The device shut off on its own and when I turned it on the Spotify app wasn't there. I have done this 2 times. So I changed some settings and hopefully this time when I turn the device on the Spotify app will still be there. I will update my review. Other than this device works well. But I bought it to stream music for the app that I pay for , and if I can't do that I have no use for it.

Nice MP3 player. It made a great Christmas gift for our 14 year old. It connects to wifi, so not only can you download to it, you can also stream music thru some of the main music streaming apps. It can also be used with headphones, both wired and wireless, and it has good sound. It comes with several pre-installed apps as well. Easy to set up and operate.
