I love Andrew's work...the black and white is stylish and fits the tone of the movie throughout.

It is tempting to observe that Dragonfly is a marvelous noir film made by a diverse collection of exceptional British actors on a shoestring budget. While true, I prefer to compare it to big-budget studio fare because it holds its own pound for pound.

The B&W cinematography is wonderful, blending film-noir intensity and pathos with stylistic, painterly images that are downright elegant. The story, written by director Andrew Tiernan, has the hypnotic allure of the best spy novels, one is gradually drawn further and further in, hoping for answers and ending up with only questions until, at last, the pieces fall together in a surprising, unnerving way.

Can’t say enough about the cast who look just right and act with absolute authority – it is hard to remember at times that this is a fictional world. As I think about it, perhaps it is obvious this film is not a product of the studio system, it’s too good.

A (mostly) good, moody, British Independent film. It's shot in black and white and that adds to the overall moodiness of it, and that was what initially drew me in. It moved a bit too quickly for me at first, but then it settled into the plot (which I won't give away) and I found myself enjoying it. This movie won't be for everyone, yet give it a chance- the director really has something here. Most of the time the acting is very good, then all of a sudden there'll be a new actor coming on that isn't convincing at all. That also has to do with the editing as well, most of the time it's magnificent and works well, then all of a sudden it's cut up awkwardly for a few scenes then goes back to normal.

Artistically, there are TONS of amazing camera angles and shots that are magnificent (that word again lol) and that made me continue to watch it through, plus (as I've said before) the overall moodiness to the film drew me in. The story is interesting, if disjointed, yet I enjoyed it. I think the director (Andrew Tiernan) shows a lot of potential in what his future films may be. You decide for yourself.

One last thing, I was VERY surprised by (and enjoyed ) the twist at the end, and felt it should have been explored more.

Started out very slow, but got better until the end. A surprise at the end made it worth watching.

Strong acting performances, intriguing characters and a well-crafted screenplay elevate this solid mystery from its micro-budget foundation.
