this product has a 49mm rear. It does not have a 37mm rear. It looks to be a quality product. I hope this helps others and prevents headaches for those purchasing for a 37mm. I purchased the Raynox HDS680 which has a 37mm rear for a Canon HF100

We got this lens for our Canon VIXIA HF M500 Full HD 10x Image Stabilized Camcorder. It screws into the threads easily. It looks good on the camera, not out of place. It increased by over 50% what I could see through my camcorder's lens. After video taping with the lens on and off, I immediately hooked the camcorder up to our HD television. I could see no difference in quality of video with the lens. I saw no vignetting at all, even when zoomed all the way in or out. You do have to remember that it is not a lens meant for zooming in, it is meant to enable you to get a wider picture. The video is just as sharp zoomed 50%+ and just a little less sharp than without the lens when zoomed all the way in. We are VERY happy with the lens on on Canon. For those with a Canon, don't forget to turn the wide-angle adapter lens setting on in the other settings menu.

The Raynox HD-6600PRO-46 is a fairly good lens. Zoomed out, the whole image is in focus. With any zooming in, however, the edges start to blur, but do seem to hold up fairly well between 0-20x zoom.
I mostly take family video with most of the action fairly close. I love the wide view this lens provides, especially indoors or traipsing through the wilderness, but if the kids get more than 50 feet away, the image gets a little too blurry for HD quality when zooming in on the action. Still better than the old Hi8 I had, but not good enough for HD. So I find myself unscrewing the lens a lot in those situations. It sure would be nice to have a lens that didn't need to be removed, but I can't afford the big bucks that might get me something like that.

This lens advertised itself as staying in focus on the edges through higher zooms, but I didn't find that to be true. It does okay with short zooming, but still when I took photos at a short zoom and displayed it on my PC monitor, I did see some minor blurring on the edges.
Still, a pretty good lens for the price, and there are cheaper lenses that are much worse, but it's still not the "Pro Super Quality" that the listing advertises it as. Actually, the cheaper lenses are too unsatisfactory compared to this one and I wouldn't use them.
When zooming in at higher zoom levels, say 30x or higher, the entire image gets too blurry to be satisfactory for HD quality, so plan on removing the lens for those situations.
I am using this lens on a Panasonic HDC-TM900 camera which cost, if I remember correctly, around $700, so the camera and lens are in the mid-range category, and I'm happy enough with the pairing. I keep the lens on the camera, and remove it for those zooming moments.
On my camera I saw no vignetting and no degradation of the camera functions or video quality, other than the blurring issues. Only problem when taking photos was the shadow created by the lens, which makes it not possible to take flash photos with the lens attached.

The lens does appear to be well made. However, on my x920 video camera, there is obvious edge distortion and blurring. I don't think it's because the lens is bad, but rather because it is a one-size-fits-all lens. That means that with some cameras it is good, and with others, not so good. This review is fair warning for x920 owners. If you plan to use it on a different camera, try to find reviews for your specific camera.

This is my first review, but I was so let down by this product I was inspired to write. I wish I could post pictures, to show you the examples. The very center of the image is fine, but everything on the edge is blurred. It's a nice package, and the lens looks sturdy and well made, but a blurry image just isn't what I paid for. I returned this and bit the bullet, and bought a Sigma 10-20 instead.

This lens produces a bit of barrel distortion and excessive chromatic aberration. Unfortunately not usable for our project, but maybe something less critical in the future.

My husband is very happy with this lens. I bought it for him for Christmas. He didn't get a chance to try it out until this past weekend, at a miniature train show. This lens is priced much cheaper than a similar Canon lens that is available for his camera, yet the quality is every bit as good. The lens arrived in due time and was well packaged.

I use this on my Panasonic HC-V770 and it works great for court side volleyball games. From an optical standpoint, the image gets a little soft along the left and right 10% of the screen when zoomed all the way out. Most people don't even notice, but I do and it's a little annoying. However, for the price, it's probably the best solution out there. I would have to spend 4x to 6x more to get a lens that wasn't soft in the corners. The lens has been hit by several stray balls and not a lick of damage has been done to it. It's built really sturdy for this price range. If you need a decent wide angle lens without breaking the bank, this one will get the job done.

I purchased the Raynox Wide angle Adapter to use with my Olympus 12-40 lens. While it works as advertised the corners are softer than I would like. While I will keep it around for extreme situations, I managed to fine a good deal on the Olympus 9-18 wide angle which serves my needs better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top an der Canon HV 30

3.0 out of 5 stars Preis-Leistung ok, aber.....
