I cut the fenders off my 4 x7 landscape trailer to flip the axle and add larger highway tires. I bolted these on and the cover the distance well to insure no rocks flinging in to road traffic. While they had rust on them, that should not be an issue. The are untreated and exposed to open air and can rust pretty fast. They need to be painted before installing. I would say that I don't feel comfortable standing on them, if you are looking for something like that.

Fenders don’t have backing plates

Corners not perfect 90 degrees
Hade to fabricate to get closer with backing plate not a big deal
Not rusty like other comments.
Pop rivets backing plate to fender then bolt through fenders and backing plate to trailer.
Reason for this way if fenders get damaged just drill out rivets and replace fenders instead of all of it.
