These are well made, and look great. With my mtn. bike gloves they have a great grip and feel. I however needed them for a comfortable bike that I plan on riding on paved greenways without gloves. For that they are not soft and cushioning enough. Size works with plenty of room once you use an alan wrench to loosen and slide the shifter up against the grips.
INSTALLATION: Installing the grips was easy. Remove old grips by lifting edge, then spraying a little WD40 inside, and twist, pull, wiggle off. It's important to use soapy water to clean off oil. Use the remaning clean soapy water to slide on twisting and pushing as it slides on. When installing, less water dries quicker (minutes), but even a liberal amount will eventually dry out after some hrs.

I use these on my winter bike. I had trouble with the once I had before. They kept falling off and were worn out. So, I sprayed some hairspray in these, and they stuck like glue to handlebars. Comfort wise I am not sure how you rate that. No handlebar grips are comfortable. Their real purpose is to keep your hands from slipping off the metal handlebars. That they do. They fit like a glove. Happy peddling.

On the one hand these are not terribly comfortable grips. On the other, they are infinitely better than what they replaced on the behind the barn bike that I am attempting to get in working order for a yardsale when things warm up. So on the other 'better than what was there and cheap while still doing the job.'

As the title says; either use a little bit of rubbing alcohol, a little soapy water, or pressurized air from an air compressor or similar to ease getting them on. I wouldn't put them on except as a quick fix for something that hais a pair of twist shifters, but for that purpose they do just fine.
