The mount worked well for our purposes, hanging a 43-inch set, and is an economical unit. The hard part has nothing to do with the product, as measuring and laying out on the wall to get the set exactly where you want ii is the trickier part of the job. The mount provides some flexibility in the side-to-side final placement, without re-adjusting the mount itself. Precise adjustment of the height becomes more complicated because the bracket hole locations are fixed and move in roughly 1-inch increments. It isn't easy to get the TV extremely close to the wall with the hardware provided as the tv mounting screws are long, and require use of long spacers (included). So, the "1.3 inch depth" spec is for the hardware only. Add at least an inch for the spacers, and then the depth of the tv itself, and the front of the screen is no where near "flush" to the wall.
