I live in central IL so the water quality just doesn’t work for a Kevlar or carbon fiber craft if you really plan on using a pack boat. This is amazing for just that. It’s tougher to hold up to the logs and rocks yet light enough coming in at 59lbs to still pack and move with ease. I’m 6’ 230 and can easily toss this thing over my head and carry it where I want. And in the water it’s a steam line butterfly. It moves fast and smooth. It will hold a straight line once you figure where to place your seat and foot pegs best for your weight
