Lots of pieces, which is good and bad
When I opened this set, I was surprised by how many small pieces I was faced with. Despite that, the instructions for assembling the main building -- a combination house/barn -- were reasonably clear step-by-step photos and I had it constructed in about half-an-hour. So that part worked and might even be fun for a child of ten or so to help with.Putting the fence together wasn't nearly so easy. There were no instructions other than for the main building, so I looked at the photos on the box and did my best, resulting in a flimsy fence with a bar on the fence gate that didn't really hold together. I also managed to construct the tree from the included pieces.After finishing the assembly, I took a look at all of the included figures. I like the detail in including so many types of animals and things to use in imagining farm life. However, after I'd placed all of the things I could identify on my farm, I still had three pieces left over that appeared to be for building -- something??? A manual that includes all of the necessary assembly is really needed with this set!Most of the little figurines are quite nice, but I think they should have taken a little more time in painting the facial features of the people. (See photos) Clearly, the farm wife is completely fed-up with something and rolling her eyes, while maybe her husband is blacking under his eyes for a bit of football after he finishes the milking? I would buy it again, but only if the price was right.Overall, due the small size of some of the pieces and the flimsiness of the fence, I wouldn't suggest this set for small children -- it's really more a 5-and-up model in my opinion. That said, I can see lower elementary school children having a good time with this and, if playing with a knowledgeable adult, learning more about farm life and where their food comes from.

I'll admit when I first saw THREE bags of parts with several pages of instructions just to construct the buildings, I was thinking it would be a project. It was a project, but whoever designed it did a good job! The instructions were super easy to follow, and it went together in no time. There's a lot of details on the buildings you get to build, but once you know what you're working with, it's fun! The entire set's well thought out, easy to build, with nice quality with attention to details. All the parts and pieces were designed to work together (unlike some play sets where seem to have a random assortment of items assembled).
The tractor has buttons on the roof so kids can start it up, turn on lights and honk it's horn. The trailer tilts, and the back door opens. It has a nice assortment of horses, pigs, cows, chickens, and farming implements, tools, hay bales, a pile of hay (that looks like a pile of something else, you've been warned haha) even a little horse outhouse service station (that you do not have to build YAY!!!).
Overall this is a really nice, and well thought out set for the kids. My daughter was excited from the moment she saw the box, and she's spending quite a bit of time playing with it, it's a big hit!

The build quality is good and the designers were clever in how it's constructed.
