Another LP hit! Toddler (and mom) loves all the features on this!
Even as an adult, I have a hard time containing myself around LP play sets. This one has so many songs and animal sounds and learning tidbits about the outdoors—and the light show from inside the camper is just adorable! I don’t get my kid hardly any toys with lights/sounds, but these play sets are the exception to my rule. This one is just as engaging as the farmhouse and vehicles like the fire truck. There are 3 settings that have different songs, phrases, noises, all learning-based and not just silliness. Love that, since I get to listen to my toddler play with the LP sets at least an hour a day. Really though, the songs are kind of catchy and this set is helping us introduce our toddler to camping through role play before we go tent camping this fall for the first time with him. He loves it! The car has two seats, one for the man and one in the back for the dog; a canoe with two seats fits on top of the car; pretend props are a campfire, a table with food (sticker), a camping chair, and a hammock inside the camper. Camper opens/closes easily and reveals a very exciting backdrop, one side “nature” with a little fish pond and hammock, the other side an indoor couch and kitchen…100% ready for imaginative play. Camper attaches easily to the car and toddler can do it without help. The turning radius isn’t great and tight turns dislodge the trailer, but that’s how it is in real life, so maybe a good early driving lesson? We borrowed a few bears and rabbits from our LP zoo and farm collection to sniff around on the outside of camp, and we’re enjoying the conversations it sparks (that bear bites—we have to clean up camp trash before going to bed). All the pieces (not car) fit inside the camper and can be closed up for the night. LP aren’t cheap, but they are well made and usually last through a couple more than just one child. Mine has several sets that we bought at yard sales, and they’re still in excellent shape. I love that they grow with the child, so there are simple things for age 2ish and more complex topics you can get into up to 5-6-7, prompted by the 3 settings. I couldn’t get my kid to sing the regular ABC song, but he heard the one on this set twice, and started singing it. A+ from this fam. (Pics to show camper details)
