Semi easy screen replacement...
I unfortunately dropped my M1 MacBook from my lap about a year ago. It was a fall of about one foot but it landed right on my desks metal crossmember. This gave my screen vertical lines which progressively increased over time. I lived with it for a bit but ultimately put the MacBook into retirement for a while. I looked into getting a geniuine screen replacement but couldn't find or locate one for less than $300. Which would be close to half of what I originally paid for the MacBook Air.I decided to gamble and pick one of these up and although the installation was a little bit tedious I was able to complete it within 30-45 minutes while watching a video I searched online. The tool kit was adequate to get the job done but does feel a bit cheap. So far it's a solid replacement and looks identical to the original.I did do a diagnostics test per apple and it did come back saying the following: "There may be an issue with your display Reference Codes: VFD001" and "There may be an issue with the ambient light sensor Reference Codes: ALS001". That being said the screen functions very nicely. Even with those diagnostic codes I doubt one would be able to tell the difference between this screen and the original. One thing I noticed is it might not be as bright as the original, but it's truthfully hard to tell. It's more than bright enough for me as I usually turn my screen brightness down quite a bit. The only flaw I notices was on the bottom right corner of the screen there is a very very very small red pixel. I have to be looking for it to really notice it but it's there. All and all, I'm very happy with the screen especially for the price. I will also update my review in the future if anything changes. Fingers crossed it will last the life of the Mac.

I bought this screen when my daughter complained her 2020 MacBook air display has lines at bottom and right. I bought this to match her spring break so that when she is home I will replace the screen. I followed YouTube videos and replacement was easy. I have done similar fixes earlier. Was not difficult project for me. Worked first shot. We were happy. My daughter went back to school and within 1 week, she complained about lines showing up on bottom and right side of screen. Contacted tech support and was told they could not help much but could replace/refund. It has only 30 days of warranty. My daughter is using it for rest of the semester and she can not remove and send it back for replacement. I asked Amazon support to send me replacement or refund and I will send the screen back when my daughter will be home for summer vacation. But was told they have strict warranty of 30 days only. $200 down the drain. Would not recommend this product. I wish I had taken extended warranty and spent few $$ more.
