Printer DRAINS these cartridges without even getting to use them.
I never leave negative reviews, but Oh Brother.... I get so upset with how quickly the "low ink" notification comes up these days, and I rarely even use the printer for full color anymore, black and white when possible (dont get me started on how frustrating it was when they programmed to not allow black and white printing when color ink was low). I had to print a color 8x10 sign this past weekend, so I installed my *brand new cartridges*. The first printing attempy is missing the blue ink color entirely (was not so when I last printed in color with the old cartridge). So I checked the new cartridges and cleaned the color print heads 3 maybe 4 times... just checked the ink volume and you can see how low the volumes are now, over half has been drained, and I havent even printed the sign I need to print yet! What is going on, Brother??!? When the printer is idle/ not in use, I hear the printer heads cleaning, and I'm assuming this is how the color ink volume drains when I'm only printing black and white. It has gotten maddeningly frustrating over the years, enough for me to look at different brands. Brother used to be my go to printer, now it just seems to be an ink sales racket. They sell this three pack with a "200 page yield..." but that would be a miracle. What a waste. Will be getting an Epson printer, I've had enough of Brother's tricks.
