The screen doesn't have very good view angle support, it only works well if youre looking on it straight on, but I highly doubt anyone who is making a device with a screen like this really cares about stuff like LCD view angle.
+ great display, outstanding value for the $$
+ installed right onto my Pi 3
Cons
+ they ship different versions! e.g. mine came without a fan, though the screen has a 2-pin receptacle for a fan. You can order "JST-PH 2.0" male connector if you need one to allow installing your own fan
+ polarity (red/black) on the fan receptacle is reversed
+ the supplied instructions didn't match the display sent -- e.g. I needed a different driver version (LCD35-show instead of MHS35-show). Your download will pull about 20 different versions of drivers, just find the right one.
+ also the spacer post installation was different from how described, and required removing a plastic sticker.
+ with the supplied case increases CPU temp about 10C, to 50C. Not the end of the world frankly.
+ despite the dedicated "Fan" receptacle, no apparent way to control fan speed
+ no way to control screen brightness
CPU Temperature control:
My temperature (under light load .. just running pihole and PADD) increased from ~40C to 50C. There just is no ventilation with this screen installed. Suggestions:
1. drill lots of vent holes around the side of the case
2. install a fan. if you can squeeze one inside the case (probably a 30x30x10mm) then let us know how that went. However I installed a Noctua 40x40x10 5V on the outside -- bottom side of the case, even though the CPU is on the topside of the motherboard. See photo (including the polarity reversal on the connectors).
This brought my CPU temp down to 38C, even cooler than it was before I switched cases to use this display.

1) Flash Raspian Buster onto your SD card (I didn't try installing the Lite version as this Amazon page says their drivers won't work with it).
2) Install the drivers following their directions on this page or on their wiki page.
3) Confirm the screen is working, also go ahead and rotate / adjust the screen if you need to.
4) Edit /etc/rc.local and comment out the line that reads 'fbcp &' by adding a # in front of it (should be near the bottom).
5) Go into raspi-config and change your boot options to boot in console mode with auto-login.
6) Reboot, you should successfully be able to boot into console mode with this screen.
With that being said, this is a fantastic deal for what I needed it for. Just needed a couple work arounds.

So I give up. The case is good, so there's at least that. But don't buy this for the case. There's far less expensive cases.
UPDATE:
I re-flashed with THEIR image (Kali)...the one that they recommended. It worked for a while, but after I attempted to rotate the screen, it now hangs on boot. Screen works to get to a command prompt (in rescue mode), but X doesn't start at all. So buggy! Am beyond frustrated.
UPDATE 2:
I have adjusted my expectations. I reflashed again and found another tutorial online about how to change the rotation in a config file. Success. I think the lesson learned for me is that raspberry pi is a hobby board and requires a certain amount of tinkering. If you have anything important on your sd card make sure to back it up before doing said tinkering. Adding 1 star because I got it to work.

No complaints, it's worked well, drivers were quick/easy to install from the website in the instructions, and displays perfectly.

While the touchscreen function works, it doesn’t work well enough to replace a physical keyboard. The stylus should be used with the touchscreen, as it needs a firm poke to register.
I tried using both raspbian and Kali on this. Raspbian installation instructions are provided with the setup, and they work well. If you want to install Kali though, you’ll need ti use a different driver. I belive I used one on GitHub for mine to work. My last review got removed assumably by containing a link, so you’ll have to google “Kali Linux 3.5 lcd” and click the first link (should be GitHub) to get the right driver.
