Hungarian Poppy

Hungarian Poppy is a gorgeous poppy variety from Redwood Farms, with stunning dark purple flowers. The blossoms are large and silky with delicate light green foliage. The flowers produce blue seeds perfect for baked goods, making this the ideal culinary and ornamental variety. Poppies add an ineffable beauty to any garden, and if left to go to seed they will re-grow for seasons and years to come.

Poppies are incredibly easy to establish, maintain and enjoy. They are highly productive, drought tolerant and fairly adaptable to varying soil conditions and extreme heat. They will readily naturalize and reseed in any garden and have low fertility requirements. They are a perfect flower for establishing wildflower gardens or meadows.
These proud little flowers enjoy full sun, but are flexible. Seeds can be planted in the late winter or early spring and seedlings can handle light frost. Seeds can be planted over the course of several weeks to keep flowers coming and the garden full and vibrant. This variety does take slightly longer than other poppies, you can expect blossoms 75 days after planting in most conditions.
We’ve maintained our own seed line for a better part of the last decade. This makes sourcing seed from our company an easy ethical choice. Seeds are produced at our farm in Ojai, California, United States.
