This filter is REALLY good for it's price. It's sharp, increases contrast in your images, and has no easily discernible color cast. It seem well built with no loose parts. I also have not noticed any cross polarization effects yet which is generally a problem with all VND filters. In the past a filter like this would cost you hundreds of dollars yet K&F have figured out how to bring a quality product to market that is affordable by most every and allowing us explore new photographic techniques at an affordable price. I had my reservations about these for a very long time until my job bought one for production use. it blew me away at how good it was and in turn finally convinced me to buy one. i do not regret my purchase at all. you can also couple these with K&F brass step rings, which are also very high quality, to fit this to all of your lenses instead purchasing multiple filters to fit all of your lenses. This is a must buy for any photographer.

I’ve become a recent fan of the K&F line of camera filters/baseplates, etc. All their pieces are extremely well made and affordable for an indie filmmaker on a budget. This 37mm VND filter is SO tiny but has nearly all the functionality of my 82mm K&F VND, which is impressive for something with such a small form factor. I’ll be using a very small Sony cam as a crash cam on my next feature and I wanted to a) protect the lens and b) be able to match the exposure to my larger fx30 A-cam… so this rugged guy is gonna be put through some things: stair falls, car flips, etc. Hopefully he’ll make it through okay but if not?? Well maybe I should get one or two backups…

Worked well during the two recent eclipses in Texas

Used this filter for both the annular and total eclipse in Texas and performed perfectly. The great thing about this filter is that you could vary the darkness level for the different stage of the eclipse. This would not be possible for a fixed eclipse filter. Both of the attached pictures used the filter - one closed, and the other open. The flexibility of the filter is something unique and ignore the negative reviews saying this is not suitable for eclipse - worked perfectly!!

I got this to use to film content in Miami for my YouTube channel. When shooting proper video on a digital camera, you need to set your shutter speed to twice the value of the frame rate so if your frame rate is 30fps the your shutter speed will be 1/60th of a second. Shooting at these settings in bright sunlight will make your video too bright even if you bottom out the ISO. In this case, most videographers use a variable ND to adjust the exposure manually. The problem with this specific filter is that the variations are uneven when adjusting. Part of the frame will be dark and some will be bright. You can fine tune it to find an even spot in the adjustment of the filter, but most likely it's not at the level that you need so it'll be too dark or too bright. Also, the quality of the filter element is subpar as the image is soft with the filter installed. I can not recommend this filter, at least from a videography perspective.
