Pros: Step count, miles walked, heart beat features seem pretty accurate. Battery life is excellent as I charged this when I received it and 10 days later it is still at 40% battery level. Screen is easy to read. The health app is decent to good and does what you need it to do and was easy to configure. I checked my calorie burn vs on line guides and it was pretty close to suggested burn levels for my height/weight. So all the main features that you want do work pretty accurately. Wrist band is comfortable to wear.
Cons: The blood pressure feature like others have noted is inaccurate with systolic number. In my case it was usually consistently about 20 points low when compared to my blood pressure cuff. Diastolic number was pretty close. Sleep results were generally accurate when compared to the information that I got from using my CPAP, but of the 9 nights of sleep, 7 matched the CPAP and 2 were just completely inaccurate, not exactly sure why.
Finally, connection issues. My phone is a Samsung 8+ and when you walk out of BT range with the watch, your phone does lose connection to the watch, however almost always, when I walk back into range it automatically reconnects. About once a day, it doesn't and I've found all that I need to do is disable the BT for about 4-5 seconds and the watch will reconnect. Sometimes I have to re-select it from available devices. I had this problem with the other two smart watches that I have used and frankly this is much better than those. Overall, for me, this is more a minor inconvenience than any major problem. This issue might be more phone specific rather than a general problem.
Summary: For a $35 smart fitness watch, I find it a very good value.
Battery life seems decent, I lost only 1 bar in over 24 hours. As a routine it seems waking in the morning and a 30 minute charge while I get ready for the day works well. I am sure going a day or two withoutna charge is not a real issue here.
On an android phone it is best to load the H band program from the play store. Scanning the bar code did not work out well for me, My understanding is other programs will work as well. H band though is more than sufficient.
There are 5 watch faces. no further customizations though. The default seems best but others that hide the health info. Faces are set in the H band program.
If you want GPS on the fitness setting it goes through the phone. You must have it on you at the time. I have not tried it yet.
There is a setting for phone finder. You have to set it in the phone and the devices stay connected. It would have been nice once paired if the watch could initialize a connection on demand. in other words to ping the BT and once it can establish a connection make the phone ring to save battery.
Screen resolution is 240x240. More than ample but not the best. If you want really smooth look for 360x360.
2) Steps- these are supposed to be designed to track certain movements and register as walking. Not this watch. I clocked 784 steps while saying in bed.
3) Sports tracking- the point of having one of these is to track you doing activity. This is nothing more than a timer. If I get on my stair stepper for 50 minutes, it shows my heart rate, my time and ZERO calories. The desk cycle, same problem.
4) Heart Rate- I literally strapped this onto my arm over my long sleeve shirt. Not only did it give me the same reading while on my wrist, it gave the same while sitting on my desk and after I put it over my shirt. I could see things being a little off with a watch but to blatantly make up numbers is a little scary.
5) Menstrual tracker- the only thing this watch is good for. It reminds you to change your sanitary pad, lets you know which days you are ovulating and when your period is supposed to start.
6) Bluetooth- always connected, no problems.
7) Movement reminder- dings me every 30 minutes (per my settings). The only problem is that it will ding me WHILE I'm walking. It doesn't register that I am already moving.
8) App- the app is great, you can see trends, calories burned, etc. The only improvement they could make is to show individual workouts logged. Instead, it all goes onto a graph that shows your while day. If you are tracking calories burned during exercise but not ADL's, it is a pain to record in a separate app after each workout.
9) Blood Pressure- ironically, this worked COMPLETELY accurate when I first got it. Even my doctor was impressed as we compared his machine to my watch. I read the instructions which said to wear above your wrist bone. I even shaved the arm hair for maximum contact. Fast forward to now, junk.
10) Notifications- I have two cell phones, one for work and one for personal. I synced this with my work phone and have genuinely enjoyed being able to preview messages, phone calls, etc. This has worked without fail since the day I got it.
Overall, I'm bummed about this watch. It worked accurately for about a month and now it is going in the trash. I meant to write a glowing review when I first received it but forgot. Glad I didn't. I wouldn't want to encourage anyone to purchase. The only things it does are display time, messages and tracks your period. These are all things you can get from virtually any other device. I wouldn't waste my money.
