What Makes Us Great

---|---|---|
ProductionPelican is the industry leader in Twin Sheet Thermoforming (TST), a highly precise process that greatly improves the structural rigidity of the boats by fusing deck and hull under extreme pressure and heat.
At comparable weight, no other manufacturing process can reproduce the durability, strength, and rigidity Pelican achieves with TST. |
MaterialsPelican's proprietary multi-layer material RAM-X is made of exceptionally durable high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE). This means less material is needed to produce boats that better resist impacts and breakage. The result is a harder to break and easier to carry around product. |
HydrodynamicsOur R&D team uses live tests and 3D software to optimize the hydrodynamics efficiency of our different hull types. This data is use to design products with the best possible stability, maneuverability and speed. |

The only negative for me is it’s not as easy to get in or out of compared to a sit on top kayak but that’s because I’m old and fat. I highly recommend this kayak for intermediate kayakers. Beginners — I still recommend unless they are non active type of people.
This kayak is Lightweight, Easy to Paddle and Transport, Tracks Well, and it’s Fast. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.
The bottom has a modified V shape hull so it’s a little more tippy than a heavy, flat-bottomed SitOnTop kayak. But, I got used to it in a few minutes
and was loving paddling this sit inside kayak. It’s very responsive. Now, getting in and out: Easy Peasy‼️ I practiced a few times in my garage. Best advice I can give is: sit down first on the cockpit frame right behind the backrest (I sat on the backrest 😂), swing one leg in, then the other leg in as you lower your butt into the seat. Just keep your center of gravity low and hold onto the cockpit sides. Best to get in and out in water that’s only a few inches deep while you’re getting used to it. . Getting out: hold on to the sides and raise your butt up onto the cockpit frame and backrest. One leg out then all together push up with your hands and stand up and lift your other leg out. That’s it. And by the way, I’m 65 yrs old with 2 artificial hips and 30 lbs overweight.
The foot stops inside the Kayak are great also. 4 different positions for various leg lengths. I’m loving this kayak and it’s a game changer from my sit on top kayak. I highly recommend this Pelican Maxim 100. Worth every dollar 👍😎

Very happy with it. Can’t wait to try it!
The only reason that it is T in the water now is because it came with water in it, due to the packaging being torn which also allowed for dark scuffing marks on the top sides and the bottom. Very unhappy with that. The young delivery guy had nothing for me to sign, was going to drop and run without inspection. Found a shipping invoice inside from a door company , and no invoice for me.
CEVA also had 2 shipments with the same number so that was fun.
Tracks well, speed is fine. Has rubber footrests that are set - not adjustable but spaced so that you should be able to find a comfortable spot. Seat and backrest are comfortable. Seat sits up from the bottom of the boat, so you're not sitting in water if you do take on a bit. I added a thin square cushion and find it very comfortable.
I like the lip on the cabin oval. I can use it to lower myself in and pull myself to standing.
Because of the tippiness, I'm not comfortable trying to reach behind for anything in the storage area. Nor would I be able to shift my weight and reach the front storage bin - which is water proof. Sometime when I'm hot and in shallow water, I'll try to reach those areas. The cupholder is nice, though shallow.
Size is comfortable for all. I'm 5'3" my husband is 6'1". I can lift it into the truck by myself. I might struggle to get it on a car roof alone.
Order was done through Amazon. Arrived on time which was one week after ordering. Delivery person didn't call like instructions indicated. It was wrapped well and did not have any scratches or dents.
