    Cable modern

    This is used to replace the modern I had been renting from Comcast. The modem has the same features as the modem I rented. Four LAN ports, two telephone ports, two USB ports. It has battery backup to allow for use of your phone in case of power outage. It does not come with a battery; you have to purchase the battery separately. The battery backup doesn't power internet only the phone during a power outage. Overall this is a good product.

    Replaced xfinity's $14/mo. rented modem/router & the swap was easy - EXCEPT that I couldn't get my xfinity voice/landline phone to work. The xfinity/Comcast person assisting me said they had done everything & I should probably contact Netgear.     Cut The Cost Of Rental Fees

    The Netgear C7100V Modem/Router was easy to setup. Used the Xfinity App to activate it. Much easier than having to wait on phone for customer service to activate it. The Netgear works flawless and has excellent WiFi range throughout the house. A good value than paying equipment rental fees.
