not new, but holds charge good.
This battery came to me sealed up like it was new, but when I opened it the battery had marks from arcing on the contacts and the battery good indicator was missing. And a scratchy look, however for the price I decided to charge it and it has held a full charge all day, so I am good with it. not why it says new. Probably out of a phone that hadn't been used much. It works about as good as the original battery when it was new.
I don't know how long this battery will last but the one it's replacing is 3 years old. The charge last about as long as the original battery did when it was new. The secret to long battery life is never discharge any Li-ion battery below 50%. Keep it charged.

It actually holds a charge!
usually when I buy a "new" batter for a device online, it either does not work at all or only holds a charge 1/10 of the time a really brand new battery does. This one (so far) works well.
