Works perfectly once installed!
This is a fantastic replacement laser at a welcoming price. The only barrier to entry is that you MUST get rid of the extra solder for it to function, using a soldering iron. The description mentions this, but it doesn't necessarily point out where it is. From the picture, in the lower left, there should be a glob of solder shorted across a couple points. Just heat the tip of the iron on it, and it should be easy to remove. From there you can use a tutorial to install it into the PS2. I am very happy that the laser works perfectly, as my PS2 can now read DVDs again!This is a fantastic replacement laser at a welcoming price.
