Used to power a mini mobile (car) HAM radio
I bought this converter to be able to bring my car HAM radio inside the house for occasional firmware updates. Since it can only handle 5 Amps of current, I would not use it to transmit (keying the handset) in High Power (25 Watts) for too long, so I would set the radio to low-power if I were to transmit inside the house using this converter. It works like a charm and doesn't take any room at all on my desk.I bought this converter to be able to bring my car HAM radio inside the house for occasional firmware updates. It doesn't work! I plugged in my cig lighter flashlight to it and nothing. Have a big fireman flashlight that charges easily thru lighter in the Jeep, But this charger, not even lights it on!
