    Finally, a solid home for a Dual Core Opteron

    Pro's: + PCI Express x16 slot, 2 x1, 1 x4 slot + 3 PCI slots + tons of onboard usb 2.0 headers + tons of ports + Native SATA + Supports Dual Core Opterons (with BIOS update) + Easy to troubleshoot Con's: - no BIOS flashback like we're used to, so need a compatible CPU first before updating to boot with - kinda picky about mixed DDR RAM sets - doesn't seem to support booting from USB devices at all - AC97 audio; something I'm not used to seeing on an nForce board. - Some settings in BIOS are jumbled up Mine was a "New Old Stock" condition, and shipped with 1004 BIOS out of the box. Needed a minimum of 1011 to support the extra possible CPU's. Had some trouble getting a floppy disk that was still good at first to get it flashed, and then Asus's site definitely has trouble with keeping ...

    Doesn't work.

    I haven't confirmed yet why it failed to work but it seems the BIOS is not there or corrupted. I'm attempting to rectify this with a new BIOS chip and battery.

    Will be using this board until the wheels falls off,if that is poaaible.

    This board continues tobe a top favourite very stable and easy to set up ,after all these years still perform flawlessly.a very good buy for everyday computing....

    Read the response

    This particular motherboard had a problem as soon as I fired it up. I thought it was a good board but the fan in the middle was burnt up.This is the fan right below the memory slots.I ended up throwing the motherboard away. Lost the money spent on it. My advice is dont buy used motherboards on ebay!I thought it was a good price and now I know why!Go to newegg and buy new motherboards.geeoo309.
