    Works OK for an old machine

    I am happy with this machine but the display no longer worked after 1 week. Still I only needed it to play tapes so I don't care. After all, it is old! Works with my original remote also.

    Sony SLV-640HF VHS VCR

    Very dependable VCR. I enjoy the quick "rewind" and "fast forward". The original remote is the way to go. My last "Sony" lasted 7 years. I still own the VHS tapes that are heavier than the present tapes. This machine is sturdy enough to handle the weight. I use this machine on a daily basis and my VHS library is over 100 tapes. Financially I can't "just switch over" to DVD, being a pre-senior citizen. This is the best gift I have bought myself this year. I highly recommend this Sony or any Sony VCR. It is money well spent. I am considering purchasing another one.
