The Laser Deck functioned properly however, my CECH-2501A would not read the disk even though the lasers were working. The disk would spin, stop, spin, stop then reset & spin, stop again. The PS3 may had issues with the foreign deck drive? I tried the 7-hour System format which did not help. Anyway, I ended up putting the new laser on the old deck drive and it worked perfectly.
