    Excellent walk around iPod

I believe Apple reached the pinnacle of portable music player with this iteration of theiPod. The iPod Nano 5th generation 16 GB with flash storage is extremely lightweight compared to the hard drive based iPods. Because it is flash storage it is much more durable to drops and shocks than the fragile hard drive based iPods. I know because Ive had several of the other kind and broken a couple of them. Features are great: video camera, FM radio tuner, pedometer, cover flow, genius play, and seamless transition from one music track to the ned (optionally enabled from the menu.) Since it's very light, it's perfect for dropping in a pocket without feeling a lot of bulk and weight.

    Apple 5th Gen Nano

This purchase's unit's screen won't light up enough to read screen unless under bright light. Have another unit (same kind) as well. AS FOR BOTH: Hard to hear clearly. Turns itself on when slightly moved or bumped so battery gets run down easy. Difficult to transport this way. Battery doesn't like to last long and is hard to charge up. FM receiver not very strong, has hard time picking/holding stations in our area. Tried adjusting all settings according to manual for issues, nothing helps. Disappointed. Pluses: Does hold A LOT of music, photos, etc. Suggest carrying in a hard-shell eyeglass case and turning off the shake to operate feature.

  • Ipod Nano

This is my second iPod Nano. I generally like them because they are small and easy to work with. I like this one better then the Generation 3 I previously had. This Generation (5) has the video feature, audio books, and pictures available too. It just has more features simply. The video feature is nice, I can take videos of my daughter with out having to go searching for my video camera. The quality of the video isn't exceptional but more or less what you would expect it would be with a iPod.

  • Great Product, Check Compatibility with CD Player

I bought this device mainly because I have a 2GB Nano that sits in the glove box of my car, connected to my head unit via a Direct Connect cable. This allows me to charge and control my iPod from the CD player in my car. While it works fine with my old 2nd gen nano, it will not charge the 5th Gen iPods. While it's probably a restriction of my radio (as when I plug it in, it says "Charging Not Allowed with this Accessory" or something to that effect), I am disappointed that it will not charge. It still is able to work with my CD player (from a functionality perspective), but I just have to make sure to take it from my car every day, or every other day. Was kind of hoping to leave it in the glove box, but oh well. I really enjoy the FM radio, external speaker, and the video camera that ...

  • Amazing product.. Itunes on the other hand .. hmmm

I love everything about the Nano itself..An amazing product in and of itself! It's that Itunes interface that leaves much to be desired. 90% of my music was stored in folders and easily organized by Windows media player with associated album artwork for easy visual. When Itunes was done importing it 70% had no artwork ... was listed as unidentified album and 10 out of 30 albums were broken up into individual albums with one song each.. No remedy to regroup individual songs into "custom/user" albums. I don't consider playlist as a solution because it still leaves you with a base library of jumbled junk. I can't flip through the albums and then drill down to songs when each song was made into an individual album.. When attempting to retrieve artwork I was forced to ...
