    Sony MZ-R55 MiniDisc

    The Sony MZ-R55 portable recorder is one of the better Walkman series. The weak link is one common to all Walkmans that use that particular style of gum-stick batteries: the contacts in the battery lid wear to the point that the batteries can not be used, and therefore must be used with the AA battery adapter. Other than that, a very good MiniDisc player/recorder.

    Sony minidisc recorder 10/10

    Just out from the packaging, straight into plugging it in and setting up a simply recording. Worked perfectly, everything went well. And setting into playback, the quality was that of a CD. Works like a charm.

    Great unit!

    Try to find a replacement rechargeable battery. The AA pack is almost as big as the unit itself and sticks onto the top.
