Downward Spiral - great Trent rock
Akin to most Nine Inch Nails, it is great for chillaxin, listening, and absorbing... not too thrashy or random, but not too mainstream it has a Trent Resnor artistic rock quality that can't be replicated. Like all Nine Inch Nails, you can't put your finger on one song that is exceptionally beyond the quality of the others; this is what makes a good album good, it's enjoyablity throughout the hour you listen to it.... if you have to skip garbage to get to the 'goods' then it's a waste of money and you might as well download.... It seems like Trent has always took great pride in producing records in their entirety, not just singles with ten tracks of filler so there is no worries in that department. Basically if you are a Nine Inch Nails fan get this album, its a great addition to the ... The Downward Spiral
The Downward Spiral - This, in my opinion is the best Nine Inch Nails album. I have them all, including the bootlegs, and this is the only one I can honestly say that I don't skip any of the songs. This album is not for kids, as a young parent myself I can't listen to this kind of stuff anywhere I wish anymore. It plays in the car when I am by myself. "Ralph's World" gets played in my car so much its like some kind of torture. Oh well, gotta keep the kids happy.The Downward Spiral - This, in my opinion is the best Nine Inch Nails album. The Downward Spiral
Once you listen to this albm, you will never forget it. This is an album full of rage,violence, sexial undertones and depression. From the first track, "Mr. Self Destruct", to the much covered epic classic "Hurt", this album never lets your attention wander. This album is also home to the one Nine Inch Nails track that most people know by heart. I'm talking, of course, about "Closer". With it's chorus of "I want to **** you like an animal", It is both shocking, yet beautiful in it's simplicity. One can not pick merely one song to reccomend, all of the tracks stand out for different reasons. This album also has one of the most beautiful instrumentals that Trent Reznor has ever produced, "A Warm Place". This is an instrumental that can make you feel so many emotions, from joyful, to angry, ... Once you listen to this albm, you will never forget it. Dark, dreamy, decaying, destroying, controlling, bemusing, and archaic. These are only SOME of the words that can possibly describe this album. It may be under some heavy criticism, however one should take the opportunity to give credit where it is due. This could not have been an easy album to make although it sounds at first like they just took a shot in the dark at it, if you listen a little closer and carefully, you can not only understand the detail of the album, but the intensity of it. "Becoming" is one of the scariest songs I have ever heard and I highly recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of NIN.
