Simply the best lens in this focal range
It's the best lens in this focal range I have used. In term of 50mm prime lens, I owned 2 Canon, 3 other Zeiss. This Otus is the simply the best (next one is Zeiss 50mm Milvus F1.4). The color, the sharpness and the build is top notch. It's heavy, expensive and manual focus only. But the image quality is astonishing.

Hate the Zeiss Otus goofy size and manual focus (but you can use a Sony with techart adapter to autofocus manual EF/Nikon to Leica M … but now even larger size!) but I own just about every higher end lens ever made from Leica (noctilux to summilux) to Canon L to G master to Sigma Art and the Zeiss Otus has a clarity, transparency, and micro detail that so far seems unmatched. Also, Adorama is one of the very best photo shops in the hobby - fair, honest, and dependable.
