Decent Camera for a Good Price
We purchased this camera to help take photos to sell stuff on ebay and then used it for everything. It is very easy to operate taking both outdoor/indoor photos but the resolution is usually pretty grainy. It is not very good for impromptu snap shots, you more or less have to Pre-plan your shot to get a good photo. Outdoor Action photos come out clear but you have to lead the shot and push the button before you can actually see the shot in the viewer. There is some sort of delay from the lens to the viewer and there is no "real-time" view window. Indoor photos, unless care is taken to ensure there is lots of other lighting (which isn't always available) come out dark. I found it difficult to get good close up photos of my items. Inexpensive digital camera for beginner
I bought the Vivitar Vivicam 3750 for my young cousin after she had used my vivitar digital camera and took some excellent pictures. For around $30 I found it to be an excellent buy and great camera for those just learning. It is a 3.1 Megapixel which is good enough for her, but someone else might want higher quality pictures. Basically, it was bought for her to better her skills before we get her a better one and to see if photography is something she stays interested in. I'm quite pleased with this camera. I normally use a 35mm SLR for "real" photography, but wanted an inexpensive digital point and shoot for general snapshots, and this camera fits the bill. It is an unpretentious camera, with all plastic construction and no frills. It's not terribly fast, taking 2.11 seconds to process an image at 2048 resolution, the highest that it is capable of. The LCD panel is good sized and clear, and at 2048 resolution it takes quite good, clear photos. This is an older camera, and no longer supported by Vivitar. However, I have tested it with 1GB SD cards and it works fine. The camera may not have been factory tested with larger capacities, 512MB being considered very large when this model was introduced. At 3.1 mega pixels it's not the highest quality image available, but this model was never intended to be used as professional equipment. To summarize it is a decent, low cost, small and lightweight point and shoot camera that is very simple to use and ideal for casual snapshots. Exactly what I was looking for.
