A bit pricey compared to what it replaces, but well worth it.
I have used the older (Yellow) model of the large dog/long hair Furminator, and this is a tremendous improvement. First, the blades are indented into the frame, so it protects them when not in use. Second, the new curved blade makes it more comfortable for my “girl of the canine persuasion”. It appears to do a better job than the old model (faster work to remove the loose undercoat). What is more comfortable for her, is a good thing. This dog comb/ brush is the best that I've ever used. We have a 10 year old, 130 lb Chocolate lab named Bison. Been brushing him for years and it has always been a big job until now. The firminator is the most effective and efficient brush EVER! Push button hair release is spectacular!!! Bought another for my daughter :) You can’t go wrong with this dog groomer. My only regret is that I didn’t buy one sooner. Make sure you purchase the real FURMINATOR and not the cheap nock off. Didn’t work
I have a tiny ShihTzu with long hair. I bought this to keep her from shedding. Unfortunately the teeth of the Furminator were much too tiny to get through her coat. It turns out much better using a metal comb
