“Vision Quest” the film is the coming of age drama that has been noted as the modern day equivalent to J. D. Salinger’s “The Catcher in the Rye”. The soundtrack to “Vision Quest” never quite received much attention in the U.S., but due to the emerging fame of Madonna at that time, the soundtrack was re-named ‘Crazy for You’ and sold successfully in several foreign markets including Australia and The United Kingdom. The soundtrack also contains an extremely rare recording of ‘The Gambler’ by Madonna, which is not available in digital format as of this writing. In addition to the pop style of Madonna, the soundtrack is balanced well with songs from Foreigner, Journey, and Sammy Hagar to name a few.
Vision Quest is an "old school" 80's flick. I loved it! The music brings me right back to my high school and college days. The artists, such as John Waite are timeless to me, but you decide. "Only the Young" by Journey was a anthem, of some sorts, for my generation. The young Madonna was not really well known, but she sure picked up speed with "Crazy for you"! And John Waite's "Change" is my all-time favorite. It's a varied music experience and I'm really into it right now.
I love movie soundtracks
