Over all it is a great conventional reel. I picked this reel up due to its levelwind feature. I'm fairly new at using comventional reels, so the war30lw is awesome for beginners. You can just focus on casting the reel and learning to control the spool as you cast. The levelwind feature makes it very easy to wind the reel back in and not worrying about if you are spooling the reel correctly, it does it for you, no worries!!! However you do sacrifice distance with the levelwind somewhat, since the line is being guiding as you cast the reel out. Like I said I'm fairly new at using conventional reels so this Penn reel is good for beginners. Eventually I will upgrade to a none levelwind reel I the future.
