I bought this game because the original game I had was scratched up and no longer playing some of the songs. Once I received my order I was ready to play, but after the second time of playing the game it wouldn't read on my PS2 system (fat). So I tried putting a different game in (actually a few) which worked. So then I decided to do some research as to why Rock Band wasn't playing on my system..After reading what others have experienced someone pointed out that maybe the system needed to be cleaned out so I decided to do just that and well behold! I figured out the problem. Now the game works properly and I am a happy camper. I give this game 2 thumbs up Its so much fun to play with family and friends. It literally brought back a lot of good memories. So my advise to others that have bought the game and isn't reading try dusting out the system because that's all I had to do and it worked for me.Read full review

This is the first of the Guitar Hero Trilogy. It was a great start but lacks where the others have gone. The small details here. Can't "Pro Battle" where you both play the whole song. When you complete a song 100% it doesn't show you have done anything special. It does have a solid soundtrack though. And you can still rock out. The venues are small and jam-packed with people. You can choose different "heroes" and play with their outfits a bit. It's worth it to get the game for the different set list.
This is a great game, played it 15 years ago and wanted another go. TV's and processors have advanced quite a bit since this game was made, so realize you will get some FPS slipping on occasion when working with a PS3. Otherwise still a great game, and still an online community out there to hook up with for play. The song collection is great, even better with Rock Band 2, which ports in all the songs from RB 1 if you have it in your library.

I bought this game because frankly I was growing very tired of GHWT game and RB offered up some really great songs.. Took me back a few years and songs that just don't get old as fast.. The layout is very similar to GHWT so it was easy to switch over. GHWT drums and mic do NOT work with this game so I've had to purchase a drum set (looking foward to that too).. We played the game on medium (guitar & bass) and had it beat in a few days.. So we'll move up to hard once the drums are in (I can't play bass on hard).. It's a great game.. In my opinion it's easier then GHWT..
The sound is better than GH. And the song selection is alot better too. I still think that with all the great songs available, they could have come up with better songs. A few of the better groups on Rock Band are: Boston,Bon Jovi,Metallica, to name a few. I wish they would stick to more of the known 70's & 80's songs. However the graphics are also better than GH. Plus you get over 50 songs.
