After purchase a shipping label was created, but my package was not sent until I waited for the anticipated delivery date to pass, then opened a case with eBay. I also sent the seller a message. I was never contacted back, but miraculously, that very day my item finally shipped. It was a gift for my husband which arrived late. The item arrived in a re-purposed Amazon box which was not cushioned, or sealed in cardboard, but multiple layers of tape. My husband saw the item through the “box” .

    Sony continues to deliver paramount products

    product does everything I previously envisioned it to do, i.e., record/view cable programs, record onto DVD's, and tie onto my security cameras. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

    Unit does not record

    I incorrectly assumed the DVD recorder would record. Turns out I was wrong. It plays some pre-recorded. I already own many DVD players. I know this may sound a bit childish of me but when I put out the money for a recorder I expect it to record!

    Awesome replacement

    Bought this to replace my other one that could be fixed but was cheaper to buy a replacement. I had several dvd that was not finalized so I know to look to for a replacement model. I like this model but there is one small thing that is not cool ant the on the panel for play, stop, and open it is so dark that you can't see the label and image over time you will know which but is for what. I use the remote mostly. The price is right and nice quality recording it also has nice cabinet on it for memory cards.

    Lightweight with great features

    I love how easy it was to set up this DVD Recorder with HDMI. It does everything I had hoped for. The instruction manual was great. Shipping was super fast and the machine was packaged really well so it arrived in pristine condition. I am really happy with this purchase.

    The Sony RDR GX 257 is a really good unit with nice features .

    The Sony RDR GX 300 is a really good DVD Recorder , It does not have S-Video input's .
