Great way to extend the best DVR out there
I recently cut the cord (AT&T U-Verse) and went over the air and streaming. A key part of my plan was to get a Tivo Roamio and a Tivo Mini. Tivo DVRs, in my opinion, are sooo much better than what the cable/satelitte companies force on you. I was so happy to get back to the Tivo remote/interface. The Tivo Mini is a great way for us to use the big recording capability and HD antenna on our Tivo Roamio in our bedroom. All of the recordings are available to us as well as Live TV streamed from one of the Roamio's tuners. It also has most of the main streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon). I tend to use my AppleTV for the streaming apps, because the performance is better than the Tivo versions. If you like TiVo then you will like the mini. If function just like the main DVR. It saves me from having to a monthly cable fee for their box for each tv. Gives more flexibility as I can easily move it from room to room for house guests.

This is a perfect way to extend your TV viewing pleasure into another room of your home without a lot of hassle and without incurring any additional fees from your cable provider.
