I have always been a fan of Alpine electronics. I purchased this used alpine cd player and I couldn't be happier. The sound is amazing as usual, and the radio itself look great. It has a very elegant gray finish and all the controls work as they should. Along with the radio, two sets of Alpine type S speakers make the whole system just marvelous. I installed it in an old school vw bug. These cars are not known for being quiet at all, and even then, I have no issues being able to hear whatever music or talk radio I'm listening to, while I'm driving around. I got the Alpine CDA-9851 car cd/mp3 player put in my car yesterday. The sound quality of it is amazing. I had an older Alpine cd player with a motorized, detachable face; I was ecstatic to find another one with the same technology. Some of the notable features of the unit are iPod control capability (with the KCA-420i cable), high pass filter (60 hz, 80 hz, 100 hz, 120 hz, and 160 hz), subwoofer control, a mute function, and a remote control just to name a few of its bells and whistles. Alpine defines "high end", its the bench mark.
All you need to know is its alpine in its hayday(the cda HU's) No other brand can touch alpine. Thats just the way it is. Dont think so? Look up the F1 7990 (best hu of all time). No one is more concerned with QA than Alpine.

The BEST Stereo I have EVER had!
I have had 3 Alpine stereo's in my day, and this is by FAR the best one I have had! This is also the newest one! The controls/features on this unit are REMARKABLE! The tilt feature is AWESOME!

this stereo is awsome you can do so much with it in my opinion you dont need to buy a 1000 dollar stereo to have good sound just get this one it is a older stereo but taken care of it will last a long time
