    Iomega Prestige 1 TB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

    The hard drive itself is very good as are all Iomega storage devices. However, the Retrospect software has it's problems. It does not work well with Windows Vista as it will not run automatically without granting it permission first. This is the second time I have had this software and it was a problem with my last computer and Windows. Furthermore, the software gives a warning message and asks if you want to send it to Retrospeck and report the problem. This went on for a month and I never received a reponse from the company, guess I will have to call them and see if they can help.

    Never had a problem with an Iomega Product.

    I bought the 1 TB Iomega Prestige to replace my 250 GB Iomega external hard drive that was rapidly getting filled up with home movies. Like Iomega products I bought in the past the setup fast and easy. Transfer from my old drive took less time than I expected. It has been over a month since I started using the new hard drive and it is working fine backing up data from the computer, storing new home movies and music files. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

    Meets Expectations for an External Hard Drive

    This hard drive is amazing. With 1 TB of storage, I should be all set for back-ups and miscellaneous use such as large video and whatnot. It looks better in the stock photo than it does in person, though. But what does that matter? This thing is pretty good. I can't wait to finish formatting it and do my first back-up.

    The BEST almost indestructible external hard drive I've ever owned period.

    Experience: I've been using mine for over 3 years. Dropped it several times in horror only to find that it still works. Though the 1TB is more than enough for the average user, I've already stored over 80% and this thing still goes just as fast. Bought one for my sister's birthday, and recommended it to two other friends, all three have never owned any other external and have been happy ever since. Pros: Robust outer covering, Small and sleek design, easy plug and play feature. 1 TB is plenty for the average user. Cons: But if you're like me, 1 TB just isn't enough. =D

    Great so far!

    I read reviews on many of the desktop hard drives. It did not seem to matter which one that I was reading reviews on, most had a percentage for people that loved them, and some say they didn't work ont of the box. This one has the best reviews of all that I read. The largest complaint about the other Iomega units were that you could not turn them off with a switch on the unit. This one has a switch, and I use it all the time. The software that comes with the unit may not be what you choose to use. I didn't. I would suggest the Acronis True Image Home 2010. I have found it very easy to program and use, whith no failings. I would suggest this Iomega Prestige to anyone! Good Luck! JD
