Small unit, works well, but has intermittant quirks that are easily fixed.
The front panel touchscreen action is a bit whacky, and after doing some research about this model online, other people had encountered the same problem. The solution is to disconnect the internal small ribbon cable going to the front touch screen panel and just use the remote control for all functionality. Quick fix!

Good used blu-ray player
Bought this used player to replace one (same model) I've owned for several years which has not worked consistently recently. It has the old style two-plug analog audio output which I need to connect to my old stereo. The newer players generally don't have this analog audio output.

the Samsung BD-D5500 is a great blu ray player. The smart hum is an added bonus and runs a little slow. Nexflix looks amazing and plays HD content very well. I'm still trying to get it to read my PC files with out freezing. Bonus. If you have a android phone, or any ios device you can download the samsung app and use it as a more advance remote. Great for typing in your user name and password. So nice I bought a second one for my little sister.the Samsung BD-D5500 is a great blu ray player. Great quality, low price, Consumer Report endorsed.
So far this unit had worked great. The Blu-Ray players always seem to load slower but as far as picture quality, excellent. I checked this on the Consumer Report website and this was one of the highest rated Blu-Ray players and at an excellent price. I don't have any comparison to other players like this but this one has been great so far.

The agent was very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. I am technology challenged and they helped me navigate my new system with ease. The excellent quality in this product is evedient. I also purchased a samsung HDTV and they synchronize well. I just love my new system and highly recommend this product!Excellent on every level. Well worth the price.
