About this product

Product Information

The Sigma DC 30mm f/1.4 HSM is a professional camera tool for Nikon that is equipped with an autofocus feature. It has two glass elements that produce a low color aberration by reducing spherical distortion, which helps ensure image results are sharp and clear. The key feature that helps the lens process high-quality photographs is the aperture range. Thanks to the high specification, this prime lens easily captures vibrant photos and bright, bold outdoor shots. Use the Sigma lens with any APS-C sensor that has a 40mm focal range and manual focus. A sophisticated, practical design characterizes the wide aperture Sigma DC 30mm f/1.4 HSM. This lens has a unique shape that’s slim at the bottom, bulky in the middle, and compact along the top rim. The mechanisms that rotate to change vital zoom settings for image quality are positioned in easily accessible spots. Between the two mechanisms, a convenient focus window displays distance markings. The Sigma logo is printed on the left side of this panel, and the product’s design specifications are stamped on the opposite side. All of the main components on the base are black, but white and gold elements are found in key spots around the housing. When equipped with a Nikon camera, you are able to shoot great nature shots without any effort. The DC f/1.4 helps you snap pictures of landscapes from a distance because it has a 30mm focal length. If the object is positioned in a difficult location, you can still take professional shots with this lens. The product’s 45-degree angle of view makes the process of capturing complicated shots simple. Since the Sigma DC has a 15-7-inch focusing range, long-distance shots are sharp, crisp, and vibrant. Thanks to the Ultrasonic focus technology, photographs taken in bright environments don't appear grainy. No matter where you use this f/1 30mm camera lens, the process of protecting it isn’t be a hassle. At the end of photo shoots, keep dirt and debris off the glass surfaces by using the included hood. Front and rear caps are also included; these accessories keep dust off the product while it’s stored away. When you’re not using the DC f/1, it doesn’t clutter your space. This wide aperture lens is just 3.03 by 3.03 by 2.32 inches. All of the design components don’t weigh this product down, either, because the base weighs just 0.95 pounds. If you need digital accessories for DSLR cameras that have eight diaphragm blades, the Sigma DC 30mm f/1.4 HSM wide aperture lens is a great addition to your camera bag. This lens offers convenient performance features when equipped with a digital camera for many types of photo shoots. The SLD glass elements produce indoor and outdoor photographs that have a high sharpness level in any light. Capture fast-paced sports shots with ease because it works effectively with full frame gadgets. This lens has a solid field of view, so the process of shooting athletes is never challenging. Because the Sigma DC has efficient components, you get the same results while it's equipped on an SLR gadget.

    Amazing lens!

Every camera bag should have this lens! Pics are sharp! Excellent indoor lens! Took a few pics indoors in a dimly lit room and the pics looked like they were taken outside, very clear and sharp. I went professional as soon as I popped this lens on! This will definitely be the lens attached to my camera unless I'm outdoors zooming in on wildlife. Sigma decided to make a good lens when they sat down at the work table with this one. Well built lens. Definitely get one for the bag if you dont have one. Highly recommend

  • Best lens for the Nikon D40. Simply amazing.

Using a Nikon D40 (arguably the most bang-for-your-buck DLSR on the market today), lenses are limited--especially autofocus fast primes. One thing that is great about Nikon cameras is that you can use lenses from 40 years ago on today's cameras. Problem is, Nikon (purposefully?) disabled metering on the D40 so you have to do manual everything with their old primes. But it's totally worth it. However, Sigma stepped up and made this lens which is not only affordable (msrp $429; ebay ~$300) it's a freakin' f/1.4! At 30mm, this translates into roughly a 47mm lens on a DSLR meaning this is basically a fully autofocusing, very fast 50mm lens. I slapped this lens on and was snapping shots within moments. You should set the "exposure compensation" to -0.7 though as Sigma lenses tend to ...

  • A favorite lens of mine

This is a surprisingly good lens! I had read in some reviews that this lens can have some issues with autofocus but I have not experienced this at all. In my hands, the lens focuses quickly and accurately even in very low light situations. It produces beautiful images with great detail, color rendition, contrast and bokeh. Prior to getting this lens, I was using a classic Minolta manual focus f1.2 50mm as my low-light fast lens. While this lens can produce nice images on my Olympus E-510, my focusing in low-light situations with the tiny viewfinder was hit or miss. The images from the wide-open Sigma lens are slightly better than those from the Minolta (sharper with more contrast) and autofocus in low-light situations is a HUGE advantage. Should you ever need manual focus, the Sigma ...

  • sigma 30mm f/1.4 ex dc hsm

Decided to buy this lens due to wanting to try one out, I make a hobby of trying different lens and cameras, and I wanted another lens for my D60 and D3000. This is an awesome lens for low light situations , I haven't had an opportunity to try it outside yet but I think I will probably prefer a zoom lens outside, it has fast smooth quiet focus, I prefer it over a nikon 50mm f/1.4, the photos inside are sharp and it takes beautiful upclose face portraits. There is really nothing that I dislike about this lens except the price. I don't feel everyone needs one but it is a really nice lens. It also looks all business like. Haven't had a chance to try nikon 35mm but can't believe it would be better than the sigma.

  • Super sharp, lightning quick photographic perfection!

There are a lot of lenses out there. I mean A LOT! They range from $50 to $5,000 and even higher. Every time I looked on Ebay for a lens other than my kit lens, I was overwhelmed by all the choices. I knew two things when I began my quest to find this lens. 1) I wanted to take great portraits and 2) I didn't want to spend alot of money. The super huge aperture on this lens has allowed me to take insanely sharp portraits at relatively high shutter speeds in low light situations without the tell-tale blur effects from hand shake or subject movement. If you are looking for a fairly inexpensive ($300 to $400) portrait lens, this is what you are looking for. However, it is important that you realize that this is a fixed lens and does not zoom...at all. This lens is for the photographer ...
