Well worth the money.
After some of the reviews that people had left about this product I was a little leary. The Night Owl is well made and does what it says it does. Someone said that it didn't pass the "toy test". If you had paid $1,000.00+ for 3rd generation night vision then yes, but for $200.00 this is a great tool. We live in rattlesnake territory and I can now scope where I'm headed without using a flashlight or getting bitten. I can also see whats lurking in the grove next door to us.After some of the reviews that people had left about this product I was a little leary. Less than what I expected
Bought this to scope at night on the ranch open field with orchards surrounding. Street lamps will blind that particular area of your view sight in image. IR light is a faint red glow only so it's actually not bad if you want to be discreet. Theres a button to turn ON/OFF for IR light. Ir and night vision Range is ok only. 50 ft is good but anything beyond is harder to distinguish. Ambient light helps.It's not bad for the price but you get what you pay for. I was hoping for something better but didn't want to pay too much for my first night vision. Been using 3 nights straight, off and on and battery seems to last. It takes one "123" size battery(sold separately). Unit is pretty light and can hold in one hand with the hand strap. Comes with bag and lens cover. Focus using both front and ... Its hard for me to critique this because my vision is not near as good as when I used the military scope. But the infra-red makes a huge difference. Its exceptional.

Surprisingly clear!!
Surprised to see that these were built in Russia, and sold in the US, but very happy with the quality so far, and considering gifting my Hunting Buddies for the price. I like the warranty, and hope that I won't have to use it and test it out. So far, very happy with the quality and the performance, and I've actually been able to take photos through the night vision lens very carefully. Thank you. HABSurprised to see that these were built in Russia, and sold in the US, but very happy with the quality so far, and considering gifting my Hunting Buddies for the price. I like the warranty, and hope that I won't have to use it and test it out. The construction of this unit would lead you to believe it was made by a big name US company. It has a rubberized gripping surface and it fits comfortably in your hand. It is equipped with 5X magnification and the optics are amazing for something of this price range. It even has an infrared generator to use in total darkness.Surprisingly well made and it ISN'T made in China!
