One revievwer mentioned that isnt a Hi8 camcorder but what he failed to mention its plays back Hi8 format recorded tapes.This is important if you have tapes recorded in Hi8 and regular Video8/8mm and you want to playback/transfer both of these formats . Having used it for a while now you can trust this Sony do a great job job I highly recommend it.

it is hard to purchase night vision cam corders in the shops and if you do find one it is expensive. I am very pleased with this purchase as was cheap and works great I have had no problems with any of my purchases and if i do i know that ebay will help to sort it out. it is a great way to sell and buy on ebay especially things that you cant find in the shops, you just look on ebay and 9 times out of ten its there. its great, i love it.

I bought it to replace an existing Hi8 camcorder, (which is faulty) in order to replay and copy my Hi8 tapes. Unfortunately, while the Camcorder purchased on Ebay works, perfectly as far as I can tell, it won't play the old tapes, which requires a Digital Hi8 camcorder rather than an Analog one.
