    Good story, with good graphics.

Wasn't what we thought it would be. My husband wanted to see this movie and I think he was thinking it was going to be more of a historical drama than a fictional work. Overall I liked the storyline and the scene work.

    Maybe fine for kids?

Maybe good if it was a Disney movie for kids. Nothing in it was even close to reality for the time period. I was expecting more like Jurassic Park where the animals were at least close to the sizes they really were. Also, the people speaking modern English was funny. If i was a kid I probably would have liked it. It was hard to get through for us though.

  • 10,000 BC - NICE!

This story is about a tribe of hunters called the Yagahl who hunt wholly mammoths called mannacks. The tribe finds a young girl named Evolet and the Old Mother (seer) says Evolet is part of the prophecy that will help to free her people, along with the man that loves her. D'leh is a young hunter who falls in love with Evolet. He tells her, she will always be with him and points to the brightest star in the sky. D'leh yearns to win the white spear and Evolet's hand in marriage. He wins the white spear after accidentally killing the mannack and gives it back. While D'leh is away from the tribe, they are attacked by four legged demons, who burn the village, kill some of the villages and take Evolet and her people as prisoners. D'leh vows to bring Evolet back; this is ...

  • 10,000 B.C.

My lasting impression of `10,000 B.C`. is how good of a movie it really is. Not great, mind you, but I was impressed at the quality and the quantity of the action scenes. Never were there wooly mammoth sized pauses or unnecessary delays in the story or action. (Thanks to 'Independence Day' director Roland Emmerich and editor Alexander Berner.) Visually, the action is well framed and expertly shot. They may have taken liberties with history, but we're not really supposed to care. Giant ostriches and saber tooth tigers? Well, I thought man wasn't as well developed by then and animal evolution was far behind, but the movie isn't pretentious (well, okay, except maybe the title); it's an adventure meant to entertain. We even reach a well-developed civilization by ...

  • Not What We Had Expected - - AVERAGE

We give 10,000 B.C. a Rating of Average, as it was not as good as we were anticipating and hoped for, based on what we have seen in the Pre-Views and Trailers. With five adults watching this movie for the first time(tonight), three of us thought it was just shy of good or good, and the other two of us had lost our attention right off the bat. The two of us just felt it was somewhat dry and couldnt hold our attention for more than 4-5 minutes at a time. It does offer nice special effects, but other than that, I guess since 3 of the 5 of us thought it was "good", I guess [renting it] was an "okay" deal. Rent It or Buy It? Our opinion... we recommend RENTING IT FIRST. Our Overall Rating: 5.5-6.0 out of 10 If you love movies, we have over 175 other Movie Reviews we ...
