OK but certain "features" make it not so great
I was disappointed in several features of this radio. 1) It is cumbersome to set up all the various individual alarms that you might want it to warn you about ("SAME" feature). 2) The speaker volume can only be minimized to a fairly high level. That is, you can't set it for lower volumes, as the minimum volume with the +/- buttons is what I would call 'half the volume' of the maximum volume. I was thinking about adding a resistor to the speaker to modify this range. 3) In order to get any reception, you are required to fully extend the antenna, at least in my service area. As a weather radio, it works fine. But the loud alarms etc. are an annoyance.

The display gets goofy after a few years, but the radio works fine, and alerts are received every time.
The display on mine has two bad characters now, so I can't read what warnings are in effect, but the radio was maybe $20 or $25 and it has lasted 10 years. It still makes audible tones, and plays each and every alert. We are not far from the transmitter, so reception is good. If our Phoenix channel goes down we can get Flagstaff Weather Radio. Tucson would be better, but the only way to get Tucson is with a big antenna, and shut off everything FM in the valley. It sits in the kitchen, and makes the beebul beebul sound every time there is a warning. Living in the largest county in America you get a lot of alerts for weather 30,35,45, 55, 60 miles away. That's Arizona for you. Amber Alerts are another pain in the neck, as I am not going out looking for any child unless he/she is lost within 2 miles of my house. The battery backup is good for a day or two, but there is no feature I can remember that tells me when the batteries are in need of replacement. Every year or so, I replace all the batteries. It was great for a few weeks..
I bought this in April 2018 and had it for eight weeks, throughout the time, I didn't make any changes to it. I just set it up to the things I wanted, but then eight weeks later; it stopped working. It still turned on and all, but the weather radio itself didn't work. I pressed the "Weather/Snooze" button and it did absolutely nothing, even though it made the beeping sound. If you're trying to find a weather radio for cheap, you may want to think about it. I'm not trying to be rude, but I am being honest. Don't buy this if you don't want a weather radio that isn't going to work after some amount of time.
