Arrived almost a week before expected date, much appreciated, but packaging did not protect enough, so there was a bend in the paper cover. I suggested better handling to seller, who offered a partial refund, which I refused because this is Goodwill, after all. I love the documentary
I love this set of documentaries. A teacher I work with has been showing them throughout the year. I wanted to have a set of my own for my family because they were super awesome to watch, full of engaging materials, information that is appropriate for all age levels, bright and colorful, and a great learning tool. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because 3 of the disks in the Blue Planet collection do not work. I have tried them in 3 different devices and they are unrecognizable to a computer, xbox, and a DVD player. Past that, these are absolutely the best set of DVDs to have.I love this set of documentaries. A teacher I work with has been showing them throughout the year. What can I say? It's just about like being in a helicopter flying over the world; picture is crisp; shot in digital, so it makes sense that the picture is great.Love it. Worth every penny. We're always on the look-out for great Earth/Nature shows. David Attenborough does it again. Some episodes are kid-friendly, others are not. Planet Earth is one of the best documentaries ever produced about the life of animals on earth. The visuals are spectacular, audio is superb and narration by David Attenborough is as flawless and compelling as ever. I have been a huge fan of other BBC/David Attenborough documentaries such as Life of Mammals, Life in the Undergrowth etc and Planet Earth seems to be the pinnacle of the work. Produced over a period of 5 years, you can just imagine the ... What can I say? Planet Earth/The Blue Planet Series on DVD
This is a fabulous series exploring the marvels of creation. The cinematrography is beyond words. Viewed on a large screen TV will enhance your appreciation even more as it was filmed for the sake of visual impact. The "behind the scenes" bonus features build your appreciation for the tremendous effort in the various filming projects - showing HOW the film crews did their jobs, often in very precarious, dangerous situations. While some life and death elements are shown, most are done in a non-graphic way (for parents looking to show this to children, it would likely be good to preview - this comment comes from a conservative household). There is occasional dry humor mixed in the commentary as there are funny moments and creatures within nature. All tolled, one cannot walk ... This is a fabulous series exploring the marvels of creation. The cinematrography is beyond words. This set of DVD's was mainly bought to give my son 2years old, something meaningful to watch. I can just say that he loves it more than ever could been expected. Actually everyone I know of has loved to watch any part of it, including myself. It's an incredible collection with highly educational value content about nature, wildlife and our wonderful planet. Everything is presented in such a beautiful and easy to follow and understandable way. The way it's filmed and produced makes you feel you're almost "there". Sir David Frederick Attenborough just is the perfect voice for documentaries like Planet Earth. This set of DVD's I can recommend to anybody, it would surprise me if someone for any reason didn't love it. In my opinion it ...
