Although it was "open box" it was actually brand new. All of the components were still in their sealed packages. The camera was easy to install and both the GPS and backup camera work as advertised. I haven't used the GPS much but the back up camera works well. Good quality and good value

The first one I received had lines across the screen and the back-up camera wouldn't work. The second one the camera does work but the quality of image is quite poor.

MAGELLAN 5255T-LM A BARGAIN WITH BACK-UP CAMERA
I purchased this after my 5175T-LM failed and Magellan took their time sending warranty replacement unit as I needed a GPS. I like the fact that this has the wireless back-up camera included and also this is a deluxe model with the reset button that was not on the 5175T-LM that had an issue and locked up while doing map upgrade.

Very poor back up camera.
The back up camera quality is terrible and the installation to run the camera cable and then find the the reverse lights of your car by anyone who is not an electrical auto mechanic is not possible. This makes this unit too expensive for the quality being so poor.
