Equinox is a cross between an adventure game, a RPG, and a puzzle game. Your goal as an Arabian boy is to weave your way through a complex maze of caves beneath a fantasy world. While in the caves, you have to accumulate tokens and keys to open doors to finally get to a boss. Most of the tokens are obtained from slaying Pac-Man-like ghosts and other bizarre creatures that have it in for you. Gathering keys usually requires well planned jumps and pushing objects around to provide safe places to step. To help you with these tasks, you will gather magic spells that can be used to heal, put the enemy in slow motion, and more. Wandering above-group will see you engage in random fighting while crossing vast amounts of land to get to new areas.<br><br>Equinox is complemented by an eerie soundtrack and simple, but fitting sounds. This is one of the first SNES games to use a diagonal 3D perspective, and executes it wonderfully with superb graphics for a cart. This is a fair game, but often frustratingly difficult to pass certain dungeons. Equinox will allow you to save your game frequently, which is vital since it can take hours to complete a single level. Equinox has a feel to it like no other game and will likely keep you coming back for quite a while.

Equinox is a forgotten gem...
This game is quirky to operate, theres not a single line of speech ( that I know of!? ), the story line is simply 'get there from here', & its slow paced, puzzle work that often has to be done with pixel perfect precision in order to solve a puzzle & advance to another dungeon room where theres another puzzle just waiting for you. Whats not to like about that!? So it isnt loud & flashy & it isnt for everyone but its still a great game Also, it isnt very forgiving & if you dont do it all correctly your d.e.a.d.! Thats one of the reasons it didnt succeed when it first came out. It was too hard. Its still too hard. But thats one of the things that make it a great game too. Its also beautiful to look at, very cool to listen to & for a lot of people, a real challenge to solve & advance ... This game is the sequel to the NES game Solstice. The game play is great, the graphics are wonderful and it has a 3-D look to it also. It contains 8 levels that get progressively harder as you move forward. You are required to solve puzzles, obtain magic spells and find new weapons to fight against a horde of different monsters.
